Albert J. Caperna, Founder & Chairman of the Board - CMC Group
Al Caperna made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1974 on the campus of Bowling Green State University. Al does not believe faith in Jesus should be restricted to Sunday. This belief, coupled with a management style that helps encourage strong business ethics, innovation, achievement and selective risk taking, has helped Al achieve success in starting and developing businesses.
After starting his own business in 1980 with his partners, he now has multiple businesses and has been recognized nationally as a business leader. Al is the Chairman of CMC Group, an association of companies that has been selling to retail and industrial customers in the U.S. and Internationally for over 40 years. However, Al’s main goal is not just to be a success in business; it is “to embody the Christian life in business practices”. He credits his success to God, his employees, and faithful customers.
Happily married, Al and Kathy love supporting their growing family.
Jeffrey Gayer, CEO/President - CMC Group
Jeff Gayer is the CEO/President of CMC Group. Jeff previously served as the Executive Vice President of Product Development and Marketing after joining the company in August 2016. Previously, he held similar roles in strategic marketing, innovation, and product development for highly reagrded companies in the janitorial/sanitary supply industry, of which he is a 30-plus-year veteran.
A graduate of Wright State University, Jeff has been awarded several patents, spoken at industry events, and completed numerous certifications and educational programs. In the past, he has served as an adjunct professor of industrial engineering at his alma mater.
Jeff is committed to serving his faith, his community, employees, customers, suppliers, and family in a manner that honors God. In doing so he desires to spiritually impact a hurting world through the Acts of business. Life verses: Romans 8:28, Acts 1:8
A devoted husband to his wife Denise, proud father of daughter Abby with husband Dakota, son Luke, and grandfather of Ms Zoey Childers. He is also an active leader at Five Lakes Church as an elder, prayer partner, and staff coach.
Dean McDowell, Chief Financial Officer - CMC Group
Dean McDowell is the Chief Financial Officer of CMC Group. Prior to joining the CMC Group team in 2019, he filled the CFO role for four different companies over his 20-year career with organizations in the cellular communications, food, agriculture and construction industries. Previous to those stints, Dean served as an auditor and consultant at Plante Moran, one of the largest certified public accounting firms in the United States.
After graduating from high school in Quincy, MI, Dean earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Adrian College before becoming a licensed certified public accountant in the state of Ohio.
Dean is married with three children—all of whom are active in sports, keeping him busy attending events all over the country for volleyball. Dean is also a lifelong fan of Notre Dame football. His oldest son is currently studying finance / accounting at Miami University. Dean and his family are active members at Cedar Creek Church in Perrysburg, OH, and they enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and anything that allows them to spend time together.
Bill Curtis, Executive Vice President of Sales - CMC Group
Bill Curtis is a seasoned leader with over 30 years in the food service industry, including more than 20 years at CMC Group, where he has played a key role in driving growth and long-term success. Known for his collaborative leadership and strategic insight, Bill has built strong teams and lasting client relationships throughout his career.
A proud father of three sons—all first responders—and a devoted grandfather, Bill resides in Holly, Michigan, where he actively volunteers with veteran and first responder charities.
He co-founded and served as Chapter Coordinator for Heroes on the Water in Southeast Michigan and now continues to support the chapter while also serving with Team Rubicon, a global disaster relief organization.
Tammy Corral, PHR, SHRM-CP, Vice President of Employee Benefits, Law & Community Relations - CMC Group
Tammy Corral, PHR is a Vice President of Employee Benefits, Law & Community Relations at CMC Group, Inc. Tammy began working for CMC Group in 1989 and was involved in the development of their Human Resources department. She was promoted to a variety of jobs within HR, from Manager to Director, and was ultimately named a Vice President of the company in 2003. She has over 36 years of experience in the HR profession. Her former work experience was for a payroll service company.
Under Tammy’s leadership, the CMC Group HR department was the recipient of the 2010 HR Management Excellence Award presented through the University of Toledo. Tammy was also a finalist for the 2002 HR Management Excellence Award. She has presented at the NW Ohio HR Conference (THRAC), the American Society for Training and Development, and also at some local organizations and companies. She is a graduate of Davis College and also attended the University of Toledo. Tammy has been an active member of SHRM since 1995 and has held an active PHR certification since 1996.
Tammy enjoys donating her time to many causes and has served as President of TAHRA, Chair for Adopt America Network, Chair for the Wood County Workforce Policy Board, and President of Management Forum. She has previously served on the boards of the American Cancer Society and Community Employment Resources for Woodlane. Tammy has also been involved with the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, Leadership BG, Toledo Human Resources Area Conference (THRAC), BGSU Coop Advisory, and the YWCA.
Seth Hill, Vice President of Global Operations and Supply Chain - CMC Group
Seth Hill is the Vice President of Global Operations and Supply Chain for CMC Group. Seth started his career at CMC Group in 2003 in the Receiving and Shipping department. Over the course of eight years, he moved into the leadership team at the company’s distribution center and was promoted to Distribution Manager. He became Executive Director of Manufacturing and Distribution in 2016 before settling into his current position in October of 2023.
An avid cyclist, Seth volunteers as an instructor for a local youth mountain biking organization. He is also the Co-Founder and President of Wheelie Good Cause, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding the cycling community and supporting cancer research and treatment initiatives.
Outside of work, Seth and his wife, Rachel, enjoy an active family life with their three children Gretchen, Bridgette, and Carter. They are passionate about the outdoors and are active members of Calvary Church in Maumee, Ohio. The Hill family are enthusiastic Penn State football fans and attend games whenever they can.
Kelly Stalica, Executive Director of Organizational Development - CMC Group
Kelly Stalica is the Executive Director of Human Resources for CMC Group. Kelly has been with CMC Group since 2013 and held a variety of roles in the Human Resources Department before earning her Master’s of Organization Development in 2021 and subsequent promotion to Executive Director. A passion for learning, people and creating and maintaining effective workplaces, her personal work statement is “Joyfully working towards the betterment of self and others with wisdom and care”.
Kelly and her husband, David, have two boys: Elijah and Alexander and enjoy golfing, skiing, and anything that allows them to spend time together.
Deb Duvernay, Vice President of Sales - DayMark Safety Systems
Deb DuVernay is the Vice President of Sales for DayMark Safety Systems North America. With over 19 years of experience in the food industry, Deb brings a deep understanding of operations, strategy, and customer experience to every leadership opportunity. Throughout her career, she has held key roles that span supply chain, product development, and team leadership—always driven by a commitment to quality, efficiency, and innovation.
Deb is passionate about building strong, collaborative teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Whether leading large-scale initiatives or working one-on-one to mentor emerging leaders, she believes that empowering people is at the heart of sustainable success.
Outside of work, Deb is a proud parent of two wonderful kids and the human to two energetic dogs. When she is not in the office, you’ll likely find her on the water with a fishing rod in hand—her favorite way to recharge and reconnect with nature.
Victor Ten Brink, Corporate Counsel
Victor N. Ten Brink attended law school at the University of Michigan and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Bowling Green State University. He has practiced law in Bowling Green since 1983 and has concentrated his practice in the areas of business law and nonprofit organizations. Mr. Ten Brink is a founding partner in the firm of Twyman, Ten Brink, Harms & Sharp in Bowling Green, Ohio. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and Wood County Bar Association and is licensed to practice in Ohio courts, the U.S. District Court, the Northern District of Ohio, and the U.S. Claims Court.
Mr. Ten Brink represents businesses in areas of acquisitions, contracts, and other complex transactions. Mr. Ten Brink also represents numerous non-profit organizations throughout Ohio and the Midwest and has been active in and served on the board of directors of many charitable organizations. He is the Editor and Publisher of Ohio Church Law Report, a legal newsletter, he has written extensively on nonprofit law issues, and he has conducted Continuing Legal Education seminars in the area of nonprofit organizations.
Mr. Ten Brink resides with his wife Michelle and two sons Victor and Eric in Bowling Green, Ohio.
